The mission of the Maricopa Unified School District Volunteers is to do our part to assist the educational system by providing our time, talents, and resources to help create “schools of excellence” for our community.

Dear Parents, Guardians, Current, and Future Volunteers:

Our Mission is to do our part to assist the educational system by providing our time, talents, and resources to help create “schools of excellence” for our community. We do it one opportunity at a time.

MUSD’s Parent Involvement Expectation is that every parent be actively involved in his/her student’s education. The goal is by 2012 MUSD will increase parent involvement by 10% from the previous year through providing parents with a variety of opportunities to support student achievement as measured by family contact logs, surveys, and participation at site events.

As professional educators provide exceptional learning opportunities for every student, it is the job of those in the home and family to set the academic expectations for individual students. The home and family is the foundation. The school setting is to build upon the foundation that exists. Each home and family is different, yet they are an incredible influence on the outcome of lives (especially students’ lives) within. Then the educational system comes aboard to enhance and give practice time for learning. After a day is said and done, again the students return to their foundation.

We encourage all homes and families to participate in the team approach in education; MUSD wants to work hand in hand with you. Put on your jersey, and play the education game alongside your students. In this game we should be learning and growing as a team. It takes a community working together! Here at MUSD, we are a team who wants to win, be our best, and rise to the top. We need every player! Come join us, be a part, make a difference, and enjoy the success that will be seen.

As maintaining the security of our school and the students and teachers within it is of paramount concern to us, we require that all of our volunteers complete our district registration and/or certification processes. Additionally, upon entering campus, all volunteers sign in at the front office of the school for which area they are providing service. Volunteers must also sign out each time they leave the school campus.
