With successful completion of the items above, you are a Site-Monitored Volunteer - always under the direct supervision of a certified school employee and/or district certified volunteer as deemed necessary by site principal.

If you wish to have the opportunity of a supervisory role over students other than your own child, at school or on a field trip, District Certification is required.

District Certification

District Certification gives a volunteer the additional opportunity to assist the teacher in a supervisory role over students if needed.

After you have given the required 15 hours of volunteer service as a Site Monitored Volunteer, you are qualified for District Certification. As part of this certification, the district requires:

  • District Certification Training Class (1 hour)
    • Certification Schedule
  • DPS fingerprint and background check paperwork which is valid for up to six years. If you already have this clearance, you can provide us with a copy of current valid documentation and your driver's license.

We will schedule additional training opportunities to meet district and volunteer needs.
